Singing Out Loud!

Wasted
Carrie Underwood

Standing at the back door
She tried to make it fast
One tear hit the hard wood
It fell like broken glass
She said sometimes love slips away
And you just can’t get it back
Let’s face it

For one split second
She almost turned around
But that would be like pouring rain drops
Back into a cloud
So she took another step and said
I see the way out, and I’m gonna take it

I don’t wanna spend my life jaded
Waiting to wake up one day and find
That I let all these years go by
Wasted

Another glass of whiskey but it still don’t kill the pain
So he stumbles to the sink and pours it down the drain
He said it’s time to be a man and stop living for yesterday
Gotta face it

‘Cause I don’t wanna spend my life jaded
Waiting to wake up one day and find
That I let all these years go by
Wasted

Oh, I don’t wanna keep on wishing, missing
The still of the morning, the color of the night
I ain’t spending no more time
Wasted

She kept drivin’ along
Till the moon and the sun were floating side-by-side
He looked in the mirror and his eyes were clear
For the first time in a while, hey, yeah

Oh, I don’t wanna spend my life jaded
Waiting to wake up one day and find
That I let all these years go by
Wasted

Oh, I don’t wanna keep on wishing, missing
The still of the morning, the color of the night
I ain’t spending no more time
Wasted

Scars To Your Beautiful
Alessia Cara

She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don’t see the light that’s shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
‘Cause cover girls don’t cry after their face is made

But there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark
You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
Oh-oh, oh-oh
And you don’t have to change a thing, yhe world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful

She has dreams to be an envy, so she’s starving
You know, covergirls eat nothing
She says beauty is pain and there’s beauty in everything
What’s a little bit of hunger?
I could go a little while longer, she fades away
She don’t see her perfect, she don’t understand she’s worth it
Or that beauty goes deeper than the surface
Oh, oh
So to all the girls that’s hurting
Let me be your mirror, help you see a little bit clearer
The light that shines within

There’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark
You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful

Oh-oh, oh-oh
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful

No better you than the you that you are (no better you than the you that you are)
No better life than the life we’re living (no better life than the life we’re living)
No better time for your shine, you’re a star (no better time for your shine, you’re a star)
Oh, you’re beautiful, oh, you’re beautiful

And there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark
You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
Oh-oh, oh-oh
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful

Monday’s Motivation

I promise, it’s not hard!

So, what can we do today that will start our week off on the right foot?

I’m going with, making someone else smile or doing something for someone else for no reason at all! If you’ve never done this, it’s really motivating and not only makes the other person feel good, but you as well.

I know we have all heard of the standard pay it forward, random acts of kindness but let’s try to get creative and think outside of the box. Maybe we can even try to keep it up for the WHOLE week, imagine being nice for that long!

Here are some ideas to get you going:

  • On your daily Dunkin’ Donuts run, instead of paying for the car behind you (which you certainly can do), order a box of Munchins and tell the window to give them to the car behind you (Starbucks fans, you spend how much for a coffee? Add a cake pop and do the same).
  • Buy a few candy bars and put them on your co-workers desks, leave a nice note, or not. If you can watch discreetly, it’s so much fun to see the confusion.
  • Send some kind of a gift card, any denomination to someone enclosed in a beautiful or encouraging card.
  • Tape a dollar or two to a vending machine with a note to enjoy a free treat or drink.
  • Send flowers, fruit basket or cookiegram to someone for no reason at all.
  • Put a note on someone’s desk about their great outfit, hair, makeup…
  • Say something really nice to someone about someone else (who could quite possibly be listening).

If you really want to challenge yourself, pick an act of kindness to use on someone you really don’t care for, or a complete stranger!

Please share any good ideas you have or the outcome of your random acts of kindness!

All About That Bass
Meghan Trainer

Because you know I’m all about that bass,
‘Bout that bass, no treble
I’m all ’bout that bass, ’bout that bass, no treble
I’m all ’bout that bass, ’bout that bass, no treble
I’m all ’bout that bass, ’bout that bass

Yeah it’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two
But I can shake it, shake it like I’m supposed to do
‘Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase
All the right junk in all the right places
I see the magazines working that Photoshop
We know that shit ain’t real
Come on now, make it stop
If you got beauty beauty just raise ’em up
‘Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top
Yeah, my momma she told me don’t worry about your size
She says, boys they like a little more booty to hold at night
You know I won’t be no stick-figure, silicone Barbie doll,
So, if that’s what’s you’re into
Then go ahead and move along

Because you know I’m all about that bass,
‘Bout that bass, no treble
I’m all ’bout that bass, ’bout that bass, no treble
I’m all ’bout that bass, ’bout that bass, no treble
I’m all ’bout that bass, ’bout that bass

I’m bringing booty back
Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches Hey
No, I’m just playing I know you think you’re fat,
But I’m here to tell you that,
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top
Yeah, my momma she told me don’t worry about your size
She says, boys they like a little more booty to hold at night
You know I won’t be no stick-figure, silicone Barbie doll,

So, if that’s what’s you’re into
Then go ahead and move along

Catch my Breath
Kelly Clarkson

I don’t wanna be left behind
Distance was a friend of mine
Catching breath in a web of lies
I’ve spent most of my life
Riding waves, playing acrobat
Shadowboxing the other half
Learning how to react
I’ve spent most of my time

Catching my breath, letting it go
Turning my cheek for the sake of this show
Now that you know, this is my life
I won’t be told what’s supposed to be right
Catch my breath, no one can hold me back, I ain’t got time for that
Catch my breath, won’t let them get me down, it’s all so so simple now

Addicted to the love I found
Heavy heart, now a weightless cloud
Making time for the ones that count
I’ll spend the rest of my time
Laughing hard with the windows down
Leaving footprints all over town
Keeping faith, Karma comes around
I will spent the rest of my life

Catching my breath, letting it go
Turning my cheek for the sake of this show
Now that you know, this is my life
I won’t be told what’s supposed to be right
Catch my breath, no one can hold me back, I ain’t got time for that
Catch my breath, won’t let them get me down, it’s all so so simple now

You helped me see
The beauty in everything
